Dear Sir, Madam,
Regarding the possibility of China being offered a seat at the table of the United Nations Human Rights Council, we urge you to rethink your motives and reasons for giving one of the biggest Human Rights abusers in the world this very important place in the UN.. It is of the greatest importance that China who has a longstanding, openly acknowledged history of treating its own people, the Tibetan people, and even animals with fierce cruelty, should not be on any council whose mission it is to uphold basic human rights.
Further, China has shown and is showing a great disrespect for other nations calls to end the Human Rights atrocities in China and the abhorrent oppression to all the minority groups.Instead of listing the inhumane atrocities perpetrated by the Chinese Government we simply ask you to find one sterling, macro-scale example of the Chinese Government acting HUMANELY, in a situation that was not inherently self-serving.
Do the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights actually mean anything? Do they not apply to Tibet, to the Chinese people, to all nations surrounding China who are in fear of being invaded by the Chinese army,
as well?! I
It is one thing to not be able to meet the goals of a charter, it is another thing to close your eyes for all the suffering the Chinese Communist Regime has brought to its people and others.
The UN was created to protect all people, all nations, all cultures, all religions. But it looks the UN is protecting a country, China, who has invaded another, namely TIBET, and is celebrating this fact by giving China untold privileges.
We urge the United Nations to vote “NO” to China being granted a seat on the Human Rights Council at this time. China MUST be held to the same standards of human rights protection as any other country without blurring the measure expected of China on account of its economic, financial and trade power.
Torture – Imprisonment – Disappearances – Forced Sterilization – Forced Abortions – Organ Harvesting – Infantcide – Ethnic Cleansing – Cultural Genocide – Refusal to create Water Sharing Treaties – Land-Grabbing – Market Dumping – Unequal Trade Practices.
The very idea of China, the most arbitrary, most brutal, most murderous regime in modern history, seated on the UN Human Rights Council at this time simply because nation states are afraid to speak up for the International norms of common decency? Unconscionable! China MUST conform to the global standards, not bully the world into turning a blind eye to China’s crimes against humanity.
